An aluminium lid that closes the matching aluminium container. It is placed on the container and the container's rim is folded over its edge — by hand or with a closing press — to keep food covered for transport, storage and stacking.
Typical uses
- Closing takeaway and delivery containers
- Covering food in the fridge or freezer
- Stacking filled containers safely
- Keeping food covered while reheating in the oven
Material & performance
- Made from food-grade aluminium suitable for direct contact with food.
- Freezer-to-oven: can be used in the freezer and in conventional or fan ovens.
- Aluminium conducts heat quickly and evenly, so food heats and cooks uniformly.
- Impermeable to light, moisture, oxygen and odours, which helps protect flavour and shelf life when closed.
- Light and stackable; empty containers nest to save storage space.
- Aluminium can be recycled repeatedly without losing its properties.
Usage tips
- Not intended for microwave ovens.
- Avoid storing very acidic or very salty foods (such as tomato sauces, marinades or pickled foods) for long periods in direct contact with aluminium.
- Place filled containers on a baking sheet or rack in the oven for stable handling.
- Store in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
